The Reality of Glass Annealing
If your heat distribution is off, your glass cracks. It’s that simple. You need those precise thermal gradients to get rid of internal stress, or you’re just making scrap. We use high-wattage quartz halogen lamps because they punch through the glass surface quickly with short-wave radiation. But the lamp is only half the story. We build the whole module—reflectors, mounts, and wiring included—specifically for your footprint. It’s a drop-in replacement. No guesswork.
The Trade-offs You Need to Know
If you get a custom-bent module, you can basically wrap the heat around the geometry of the bulb. This is the best way to make sure the glass is getting heated evenly from every single angle. But here’s the catch: these high-density IR modules put out a**massive**amount of heat. If you try to cram them too close together just to save a few inches of space, you’re asking for trouble. You’ll likely fry your control electronics or warp the frame. Make sure your cooling fans and heat sinks are actually beefy enough to handle the temperature spike inside the cabinet.
