That heat doesn’t just stay in the element; it travels right down into the lead wires. If the sealant isn’t up to the task, it becomes brittle. You’re basically asking for a ground fault. Doing it the right way To stop this from happening, we use high-density ceramic beads or specialized silicone potting.
