That’s why we’ve been moving toward IP65-rated infrared heaters. They’re built for the chaos of a steamy bathroom. What’s the deal with IP65? Basically, it means the unit is sealed tight. Dust can’t get in, and water can’t get in—even if it’s splashing from every angle. In a normal heater, steam finds a way inside and shorts out the electrical terminals. We stop that by using high-temp silicone gaskets and reinforced cable glands. It’s like giving your heater a raincoat that never leaks. Instant warmth vs. waiting around Here is the big difference: traditional heaters try to warm up the air. That takes forever. Infrared is different. It sends out a wave of heat that hits your skin and the walls directly. You feel it the second you flip the switch. We use short-wave emitters because they pack a huge punch of heat without needing a giant, clunky fixture on your ceiling. A few things to keep in mind You can’t just plug these into any old outlet. They pull a lot of power to get that instant heat, so you’ll need a dedicated circuit. Make sure your breaker and wiring can actually handle the load before you start installing. Also, because these units are sealed so tight to keep the water out, they trap more heat inside the housing than an open-frame heater would. To keep things safe, we build in thermal cut-off switches. If the unit gets too hot, it shuts itself down. Just a tip: if you’re tucking these into a tight ceiling, leave a little breathing room. The safety components need a bit of air to work right.
